Besides direct ownership of prestigious cinema halls like PRIYA in south Kolkata, and Annapurna Multiplex/Mall (under construction) in Sonarpur(24 Parganas - South), PEPL manages many prestigious cultural complexes and multiplexes like The Star Theatre(North Kolkata), Bioscope, in Rajarhat, Gitanjali Cultural Complex in Bolpur (Shantiniketan), Krishti Cultural Complex in Memari (Burdwan), Vidyasagar Memorial Hall in Guskara (Burdwan), Satyajit Mancha in Balurghat (South Dinajpur), Balaka in Illambazar, (Birbhum), Netaji Subhash Sadan in Baidyabati. The Company's business extends to the distribution of films as well. We had been the sole distributors for the three biggest Hollywood studios- Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures and Walt Disney for releasing their films in Eastern India.. PEPL has also partnered with some of the big Indian production houses viz. UTV Films, NDTV Lumiere, Acropolis, Mumbai Mantra, National Film Development Corporation etc. Under the banner of Piyali Films and Purnima Pictures, PEPL has also produced films, most of which have earned major national and international awards. "Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne", "Aranyer Dinratri", "Pratidwandi" directed by Satyajit Ray, "Chhuti" directed by Arundhati Devi, and "Hatey Bajare" directed by Tapan Sinha, are just some of the unforgettable names. PEPL has received the President's Gold Award for Best Producer, for three consecutive years.
The history of PEPL dates back to the days of Piyali Films. It produced some of the most memorable films in the history of Indian Cinema. Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne, Aranyer Dinratri, Pratidwandi, Chhuti, Hatey Bajare to name a few. Piyali Films, also established as one of the largest film distribution company in eastern India, Priya Cinema, its flagship single screen complex, was the first to screen the most popular Charlie Chaplin movie "CITY LIGHTS" on the 2nd May 1958. Priya Entertainments Private Limited started almost a decade ago. Since then, it has grown and evolved consistently. It ventured into taking over the operations, up-gradation and management of various multicomplexes and muliplexes in and around Kolkata starting with GLOBE. The Gitanjali Cultural Complex, Bolpur (Shantiniketan) was next, which was soon followed by the Krishti Cultural Complex, Memari (Burdwan), Annapurna Multiplex/Mall (under construction) Sonarpur(24 Parganas - South), the Star Theatre (north Kolkata), Satyajit Mancha, Balurghat (South Dinajpur), Bioscope Rajarhat, Balaka, Illambazar (Birbhum) and the latest being the Netaji Subhash Sadan, Baidyabati (Hooghly) thus forging public private partnerships with municipal and other govt. bodies to which these properties belong.

Mrs. Esha Dutta Kolkata born and educated. Schooled at Loreto House followed by graduation in English Hons from Presidency College. After graduating, worked for a couple of years at Trade Wings Ltd. The company was the official travel agents for all the BCCI cricket events. Hence was part of the team which handled all the matches held in Kolkata including the World Cup. Joined the Jetair group of companies thereafter and worked with Trans World Airlines followed by Gulf Air. Post marriage, started a children's furniture enterprise with a friend. Participated in the ABID exhibition in Kolkata with much success. Currently a director with Priya Entertainments (P) Ltd., handling the publicity and marketing aspects. Worked in the field of Communication from 1970 by joining Nationally renowned communication Agencies like Clarion McCann, Grant Kenyon Ekhard, where he worked as a Creative Director for development of various National brands from toothpaste to townships. Founded Thoughtshop Communications Pvt. Ltd. in 1982, worked as one of the founder directors and elevated the Company to one of the most outstanding communications agencies. Received several awards including Best Agency Award from Advertising Fraternity and Public Relations Organisations. Also received President's Awards for outstanding design work.
